Born in Guangzhou, China, Zhaoming Wu earned his B.F.A. in painting from the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Art. He was also an assistant professor at the academy for seven years. After moving to San Francisco, Wu received his M.F.A. in painting from the Academy of Art University, where he is currently an instructor. Active for many years as both an artist and a teacher, Wu has exhibited in works in museums and private collections around the world.
National and international publications have highlighted his vibrant career and technique. He has been featured in such magazines such as Fine Art Today, Fine Art Connoisseur, American Art Collector, Southwest Art, and Plein Air. International publications include Arte Y Libertad (Spain), Art of Watercolor (China), and Pratique des Arts (France). He has published nine books.
Wu has received many major awards and honors, including those from International Artist, Oil Painters of America, and the National Oil & Acrylic Painters’ Society, among others. For six consecutive years, he was a juror of the international art competition at the at the European Museum of Modern Art (MEAM) in Barcelona, Spain.
